This might be the coolest photo I have ever snapped.
I made it to the Farmer’s Market at Nathan Phillips early enough this morning to get a really good look at this installation called Forever Bicycles by Ai WeiWei (Chinese political dissonant / artist).
He uses 3,144 bicycles, connecting them into a 3D structure which obviously creates an unreal visual effect.
It is absolutely mesmerizing, how the f*ck did he do it?
Being able to capture this piece head on is the only way to truly appreciate the massive labrynth- like, visually moving space.
A Toronto edition that was created for Nuit Blanche 2013, Forever Bikes will be on display in Nathan Phillips Square until Oct. 18 (or 28th, i forget).
