I’m going to make this one short and sweet for ya on this dreary, dark hump day. With the welcoming of a new month, a new season, and a brand new wardrobe (don’t lie), I thought it only right to share with you a way to celebrate these changes with a smile on your face, and a food baby in your tummy.
Thanksgiving doesn’t just have to be celebrated with your family… blood family that is. Yes it’s nice to rely on Mum to buy the turkey, cook the turkey, clean up the turkey leftovers and make a turkey broth for you to take home, all in a
stress- free days work.
But what about the Thanksgiving celebrations where Mum isn’t technically invited? What about the Sundays where you and a group of your closest non- blood family members somehow end up gathered in a backyard with a striploin roasting on the BBQ, sausages on the grill, apple cider on the stove and enough salad to feed an army of rabbits?
Moments like these are ones that should never be taken for granted. Spending time with people you love, everyone contributing something to the meal, laughing and talking late into the night. These are the reasons I survive. These are the moments I am most most grateful. These are the kinds of experiences worth having this October, and I dare ya to do so too.
So, throw on your favorite plaids, pick up a pumpkin, brew your own apple cider (if we did it, you can), acquire a hay bail, turn on that rotisserie, fill up your cup, and embrace this lukewarm weather before Winter wipes away any hope of warming up again. Seriously though, k*ll me.
Remember, giving thanks costs nothing and means everything.
