Happy Hour With Casamigos Tequila

Welcome to my #HouseOfFriends with a Casamigos Tequila Lavendar Paloma Cocktail!

Casamigos Tequila, the liquid prodigy child of George Clooney, Rande Gerber (Cindy Crawford’s hubbie) and Mike Meldman (hes in the Entourage movie), is the ONLY tequila you need to buy this Summer.

Taking two years to find the perfect flavour profile, George and Rande created this smooth-sipping spirit as a symbol of good times with good friends, hence the name Casamigos (house of friends).

Although my favorite way is on the rocks or in a shot glass, Casamigos has a wide selection of carefully crafted cocktail recipes that you can find on their website, or by searching #HouseOfFriends on Instagram and Twitter.

I decided to put my freshly grown lavender to good use and make a simple syrup to create my own Casamigos cocktail.

It was good. My bottle is empty.

Lavendar Simple Syrup:
1/2 cup of sugar
2 tbsp lavendar
1/2 cup of water
Lavendar Salt Rim:
1 tbsp. dried lavendar
1 tbsp. sea salt or sugar
2 oz. Casamigos Tequila
3 oz. fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 oz. lavendar simple syrup

  1. For the simple syrup, combine sugar and lavendar with 1/2 cup water in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook until dissolved (3-5min) and steep for 20-30 minutes. Strain, discard lavendar and let cool.
  2. Prep the glass by combining lavendar and salt in a small dish. Rub a grapefruit slice around rim of glass and dip the rim in salt to coat. Fill with ice.
  3. Make the cocktail by combining grapefruit juice, tequila, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into salt-rimmed glass.
  4. Sip. Slurp. Chug.
